Each year The Celebrity Golf Tour stages golf competitions around the UK and overseas where well-known personalities from the worlds of film, television, show-business and sport play golf with corporate sponsors to help raise funds for charity.
Over £5,492,000 has been raised for charity over the last 19 years.
A gala dinner, prize presentation ceremony and star-studded cabaret follows every golf competition so that more than just the golfers can also enjoy a fabulous day's entertainment whilst at the same time raising further funds for charity.
Companies can either sponsor the whole event or can purchase a team or teams in individual events.
The Celebrity Golf Tour operates an Order of Merit Scheme for celebrities so that an overall champion is proclaimed each year. The winner not only receives a valuable prize but wins The Franklyn James Memorial Trophy in memory of Frank Worthington (stage name Franklyn James). The trophy is also in memory of Neil Midgley, Malcolm McFee, Alan Ball, Gareth Hunt, Clive Hornby, Renato Pagliari, Garfield Morgan, Sir Norman Wisdom, Trevor Bannister and Paul Gaskell - the founder of The Celebrity Golf Tour.
